Our commitment
EV Psychiatry is committed to making this website accessible to everyone, including people who use assistive technology. People seeking mental health care should never be turned away by a website, and we treat accessibility as part of providing care rather than an optional extra.
Standard we work to
We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 Level AA. These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible to people with a wide range of disabilities, including visual, auditory, physical, speech, cognitive and neurological disabilities.
What we have done
- Semantic HTML structure with a single, meaningful heading hierarchy on every page
- A skip link so keyboard users can bypass navigation and reach the main content
- Visible, high-contrast focus indicators on every interactive element
- Full keyboard operability, including menus and the self-assessment tool
- Text and interface colours tested against WCAG AA contrast thresholds
- Descriptive link text and accessible names on all controls
- Respect for the operating system’s reduced-motion preference
- Responsive layouts that support zoom and reflow without loss of content
- Form fields with programmatically associated labels and clear error guidance
Known limitations
We test regularly, but no website is ever finished. Where we become aware of a barrier we record it and prioritise a fix. If you encounter something that is not listed here, we would genuinely like to know.
Third-party content
Some parts of our service may rely on third-party tools that we do not directly control. We take accessibility into account when choosing suppliers and will work with them, or find an alternative, when a barrier is identified.
Tell us about a problem
If you have difficulty using any part of this website, please contact us. Tell us the page, what you were trying to do, and what happened — that helps us fix it faster. We aim to respond within two business days.
